Grand Banks wooden yachts are known for being built with the highest quality materials and craftsmanship.

Construction is of mahogany planking fastened with bronze screws on sawn hardwood framing. Cabin structure and sub-decking is marine plywood. Decks are planked with teak. The exterior trim is varnished teak and is in excellent condition. These boats feature cast bronze hardware including heavy stanchion posts, hawse pipes, cleats, door hardware, and deck plates.

This boat has been kept in a boathouse which has preserved the exterior and kept it dry.

This two stateroom Grand Banks 42 Classic offers a great deal of space and convenience for cruising.

Enter the main salon from teak doors to port and starboard. The helm is to starboard with a folding seat and canvas captain's chair. To port is a large galley with ample counter space and storage in teak drawers and lockers. The galley features a three burner propane stove with oven, a large refrigerator, and a large freezer which is located under the seating in an L-shaped settee to starboard.

Aft in the salon to starboard is a very large L-shaped settee with separate teak dining table. To port is a settee with a side cabinet with drawers. The floors are teak parquet. The fabric on the upholstery is in great condition. This dining table does not covert to a berth, but the settee is large enough to serve as a single berth.

Forward from the salon is a private cabin with v-berth and filler to make a large double berth. An enclosed marine head compartment with manual toilet and shower is in this space. The marine head is a direct-discharge type. There is ample storage in hanging lockers and drawers in this cabin. A louvered door and a hatch close to provide privacy.

The master suite is aft of the main salon. Single berths with innerspring mattresses are to port and starboard. A teak ladder leads to doors and a hatch aft to the cockpit. Between the berths is a teak cabinet with drawers. There is a large hanging locker in this compartment in which two survival suits are stored. The master suite features a large head compartment with vacuum flush toilet and a tiled soaking tub with shower. The Mansfield MSD Type 1 waste treatment system is connected to this marine toilet.

Headroom in the master suite is 6' 4".
